Retirement Notification

Announce your Retirement

Career Letter

Dear …

After many years of my career with, __(name of organization)__ it has come time to announce my retirement. Effective __(date)__, I will be leaving this organization to move into a new era of my life.

While I have been considering this retirement, I’ve been thinking a lot about the last __(#)__ years. When I look back at the start of my career here, I recall feeling that there was so much to do and retirement was so far off that it was inconceivable to even think about. Now I have to wonder how that time could have flown by so fast. Before I knew it, the time had come to close this chapter of my life and look forward to spending time__(fishing/gardening/traveling/etc.)__.

I want to take this opportunity to thank __(name of organization)__ for the opportunity I was given to work for this great organization. I feel very fortunate to have been part of a team of such fine individuals and I will surely miss the many relationships and friendships I have built over the years. And to each one of those who were there to offer support and help whenever I needed it, I am so grateful and wish them all my very best.

My experience with __(name of organization)__ has been a most pleasurable one. I will always look back on it fondly. __(Even in retirement, this amazing company continues to offer seminars to its retirees. This is something that I would like to take advantage of, if I may)__. I don’t know of any other kind of organization that can compare to the way this one treats its people. May __(name of organization’s)__ success continue to grow for many years to come.

My best wishes to each and every one of you!

Sincerely,
